Anxiety Check-In (GAD-7)

A seven-question anxiety check-in, scored 0 to 21, that you can take in the app whenever you want. Andy asks it at the start of your plan, again on day 14, and keeps the answers so you can see what moved.

The GAD-7 is a standard seven-item questionnaire used in clinics to screen for generalised anxiety. Each answer scores 0 to 3, so the total runs from 0 to 21. Andy shows you the total and the usual bands: minimal, mild, moderate and severe.

1)When Andy asks it

Once during onboarding, so your plan starts with a number. Again on day 14 of the plan, so it ends with one. You can also open it any time from Settings.

Each result is kept. After the second time you get a simple before-and-after view, and a per-question breakdown so you can see which items changed rather than just the total.

2)Reading the score

The questions cover the last two weeks, which is why the two check-ins sit fourteen days apart. Scores of 0 to 4 count as minimal, 5 to 9 mild, 10 to 14 moderate and 15 to 21 severe. A score of 10 or more is the usual point at which clinicians suggest a fuller assessment. Two scores a fortnight apart tell you more than one on its own.

3)What it is not

It is a self-check, not a diagnosis, and a score on its own does not tell you what to do. If your score is high or you are worried, talk to a doctor or a therapist. You can send them your Andy report from inside the app.

Try it without the app

The same seven questions are on this site as a free anxiety test. The in-app version adds the retake and the comparison over time.
